Lithuania starts providing booster shots against COVID-19

Lithuania has started providing third vaccines against the coronavirus.
As of Tuesday, adults may receive a booster shot, on the condition that their last vaccination was at least 180 days ago.
Only Pfizer/BioNTech and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are being used in the booster shot campaign, according to a Health Ministry statement.
In Lithuania, case numbers have risen significantly in recent weeks.

Official figures show 1,155.7 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were registered in the past 14 days.
Of almost three million inhabitants, 70.2 per cent have either been fully vaccinated or have recovered from COVID-19.
