Man docked for constituting nuisance

A 24-year-old man, Bidemi Abiodun, was on Thursday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly constituting a nuisance.

Abiodun, whose residential address was not given, was charged with wandering and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Philip Amusan told the court that Abiodun had on March 10, at about 2: 30 p.m., at Barika/Foko area, Ibadan, conducted himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace.

Amusan said the defendant on the said date, time, and place, was allegedly found wandering in the area, doing nothing.

According to him, the defendant was in the area to cause unrest and disturbance.

He said the offense contravened the provisions of sections 249(d) and 250(6) of the criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.

Abiodun, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Magistrate Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti granted the defendant bail in the sum of N10, 000 and one surety in like sum.

Amole-Ajimoti adjourned the case until May 30, for a hearing.
