A 22-year-old man, Rasheed Ayobami was on Thursday, arraigned in Ibadan for allegedly harming a woman with a broken tile.

Ayobami, whose residential address was not provided, was charged with assault, occasioning harm.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Philip Amusan told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offense on April 1, at about 2:25 p.m. in the Olugbe area of Ibadan.

Amusan said the defendant allegedly wounded one Kemi Arobasalu on her right hand with the broken tile.

He said the offense contravened Section 355 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs. Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500, 000 with one surety in like sum.

Amole-Ajimoti adjourned the case until May 17, for a hearing.
