The Adamawa State police command on Monday paraded a man identified as Elisha Tari for allegedly killing his children.

Tari was arrested on Thursday, August 18, for stoning two of his children (3 and 5 respectively) to death.

The suspect is an indigene of Himike village in Michika Local Government Area of adamawa state and also a traditional musician.

Confessing to his crime, he disclosed that the incident happened after the victims demanded to see their mother and his wife who had left him for her parent’s house over two months ago and efforts to appeal to her to come back home had been abortive.

According to him, on that fateful day, the children came to him while he was cooking and asked to see their mother and he also asked them to say God, but the victims kept saying ‘fire’, he became irritated and as result he picked a stone and hit them on the head till they died.

He further stated that he smokes Indian hemp, drinks alcohol and inhale snuff and claimed that he was once tied with chains because of a mental disorder.
