A man, simply identified as Lobistars has vowed to eradicate sports gambling in Nigeria.
The X user, in a post he made on the platform, revealed that someone he knew committed suicide because he was addicted to gambling.
Sharing the suicide note of the deceased, Lobistars, who has been on a campaign against gambling, said his effort is to ensure that new people don’t join the menace.
“You think sports gambling is a joke? Someone committed suicide today and dropped this note. It takes the brave to survive to this point. I’ll make sure I create more awareness to stop newcomers,” he captioned his post.
Online sports betting is a fast-growing industry in Nigeria, but some people have argued that this growth brings a range of challenges that put consumers at risk.
