
The Police in Anambra State have commenced investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of unidentified persons during a night club in Oba in Idemili North local government area of the state.
The ugly incident happened on Sunday night at a night club by fun seekers in the area. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, Tochukwu Ikenga, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), confirmed the incident yesterday.
He disclosed that the attack took place at the Porsche Nightclub in Oba town of the council.
Ikenga said: “Yes, the incident happened. Our men were alerted, and they quickly moved to the scene of the incident, but the gunmen had already fled.

“We have also fully deployed our men to Oba, and the operation is ongoing. So far, no arrest has been made,” he said.
An eye witness disclosed that the gunmen arrived at the nightclub with claim that they wanted to “kidnap” the club owner when security attempted to resist them.
“As a result of the resistance, the gunmen started shooting sporadically, killing many people in the process,” Ezefunamba recalls.
“They also beheaded one of the security men who resisted them from taking the owner of the nightclub,” he added.
Another source stated that seven people were killed, and one security member had his foot cut off by the gunmen.
The gunmen were said to have started shooting sporadically, killing some people in the process. One of the security men, it was learnt was also beheaded and a foot cut off and taken away during the pandemonium.
It was also learnt that the owner of the night club, Porshe NightClub, who is a 35-year-old Chief Ebere Orji alongside five others were equally kidnapped in the wake of the bloody attack by the rampaging gunmen.
