Matawalle announced this shortly after the Northern States Governors Forum Meeting with Northern Emirs and chiefs held at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House Kaduna.
Governor Matawalle noted that in recent times traditional rulers as custodians of peace and security in their domains, ought engaged appropriately in finding solution to the lingering crisis.
According to him, the resolution to give traditional institutions formal roles in governance architecture of the nation was in right direction. He said already his Administration has been engaging critical stakeholders in peace processes.
The Governor who attended the meeting alongside his colleagues in the Northern States said the meeting if conducted regularly will pave way for unity in the region as well as security and economic prosperity of the country.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency, the senate President of the federal Republic of Nigeria, the Honourable Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, and other members of the National Assembly from the North, the chief of Staff to the president and the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Saad Abubakar.
