Moroccan king pardons 1,243 prisoners on occasion of Throne Day

Moroccan King Mohammed VI on Friday granted pardon to 1,243 prisoners in the country.
This was made known by the official news agency MAP.
The 1,243 people, some in prison and others on bail, were pardoned by the king.
Friday marks the 22 years of the Moroccan king on the throne, MAP said.

Morocco had announced that all activities, festivities, and ceremonies on the occasion of the Throne Day would be postponed over the concern of the COVID-19 pandemic.
King Mohammed VI would deliver a speech to the nation on Saturday evening.
