Motorcyclist docked for alleged criminal intimidation

A motorcyclist, Nasiru Muazu, 20, on Wednesday appeared in a Magistrates’ Court, Gwagwalada, FCT, for alleged criminal intimidation and trespass.

The police charged Muazu who lives in Hajj Camp, Gwagwalada, Abuja with three counts of criminal intimidation, trespass, and attempt to commit offence of theft.

The Prosecution Counsel, Abdullahi Tanko told the court that the complainant, Shuaibu Ujah of Hajj Camp, Gwagwalada, Abuja, reported the matter at the police station on Sept. 2

Tanko said that the defendant also threatened to harm the complainant with a knife.

He said that the defendant attempted to steal the complainant’s LG air conditioner and Thermacool generator worth N200,000.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 95, 342, and 397 of the Penal Code.

The defendant pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Punarimam Balogun admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N150,000 with one surety in like sum.

Balogun ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and adjourned the case until Aug. 21 for hearing.
