My fans help me to where I am – Cherry

Cherry, an Afro-Rap artist, also had a chat with Quadri Akanbi backstage. Her views:

Can you please introduce yourself?
I’m Cherry Enterfield by name.

What kind of music are you into?
I’m into Afro-Rap, and it’s more like Afro-Chant, because it’s more of the incantation in the deep African spiritual music that has been transformed into the modern type of music today. It comes with its soul intact. I am also a dancer.

What are the challenges you have encountered before and how have you been able to scale through?
First of all, a lot of artists, both male and female, at some point go through challenges and have been able to prove themselves, especially a singer who does not have a good singing voice. But once the music gets out and people listen to it, such an artist is made. Unlike a rapper; you have to prove yourself confident, and non-racist, with a good stage presence, power, and ability to pull people closer to you. You must also put in a lot of energy. The major challenge is “I NEVER BLOW”.

What is your advice for young individuals who are chasing their careers in music?
I could start by saying “F..k. What people say, and do you…?”, This is because music is the soul that I am putting in and out to the universe. Whenever I leave this place, my soul is still here through my music. So, put it out, and don’t let anyone discourage you at all.

Shout out to all my fans that have helped me to where I am, and for also doing the right thing by believing in me.

What should we expect from your performance?
You should expect epic, ground-shaking/breaking, history-making, A god in action.
