N15m, cooked meal, others, delivered to free doctor, driver in Delta, says Activist Harrison Gwamnishu

A Delta-based human rights activist, Harrison Gwamnishu has stated that he witnessed relatives of some kidnapped victims paying weird ransoms to the abductors.
In a Facebook post, Gwamnishu said the abductors received the ransom in exchange for the freedom of a medical doctor and his driver who were kidnapped on Sunday along the Issele-Uku Express.
He wrote, “Just witnessed another N15,000,000, cooked jellof rice, chicken, energy drink, etc delivered to Armed Fulani Kidnappers at Ubulu-Okiti Express, Delta State as ransom.
“They kidnapped from Issele-Uku yesterday evening and collected ransom at Ubulu-Okiti this evening. MEANING THEY DIDN’T GO FAR.”
He advocated for the empowerment of local security outfits in the state, noting that the operatives are not well-funded and don’t have the necessary weapons to combat the abductors.
“If you reside in below communities, be watchful of your surrounding and please don’t keep quiet when you see these criminals in your farm and forest.
“While waiting for the Government to come to our aid, we can start by ensuring our local vigilantee are strongly empowered,” he added.
