The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Day 2022 Celebration earlier scheduled to take place from 19-21 May 2022 at NAF Base, Kano has now been rescheduled to take place from 21- 23 May 2022 at the same venue, the Director of Public Relations and Information Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet has said.
Air Commodore Gabkwet said that the rescheduling of the anniversary celebration was due to unforeseen circumstances.
“The NAF wishes to apologize to all its guests for the inconveniences the new shift in date may have caused them,” the statement concluded.

However, trending information reveals that the rescheduling of the anniversary celebration may not be unconnected with the terror attack at Sabon Gari on Tuesday morning in Kano.
Trending reports reveal that an explosion, suspected to be an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), occurred at Aba Road in the Sabon-Gari area of Fagge Local Government in Kano State.
Sabon Gari is a settler-dominated area in the state with the Igbos accounting for more than 70 percent of the population of the area.
Some political analysts said that it is part of the intimidation strategy ahead of the 2023 general elections to scare residents of the area from coming out to exercise their franchise.
Meanwhile, details of the blast and its cause were still sketchy at the time of filing this report, however, visuals from the scene show that it affected some buildings and left several injured including school children.
The visuals also confirm that the blast might have claimed several lives with at least one corpse seen on the floor.
A crowd gathered right after the blast with some people trying to help the injured and others lamenting the damage.

The Commissioner for Information Kano state, Mallam Muhammad Garba, refuted the report in a section of the media that the blast took place in a school, clarifying that the blast happened at an animal feed store opposite a school.
The commissioner in a statement shortly after the unfortunate incident reveals that the authorities have commenced an investigation to determine the cause, impact, and measures to be taken.
Contrary to the earlier report of the terror attack, the Kano State Police Commissioner, Shuaibu Dikko, said the tragic episode was a gas explosion.
He also confirms four casualties, while fielding questions from newsmen in Kano.
