The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Archery Federation (NAFED) held quick emergency meeting yesterday being Friday 2 October 2026 to set up the Main Organising Committee (MOC) for the 2026 TIZOCATA International Archery Championship holding in Abuja from October 8-11, 2026.
The MOC which has NAFED’s President, Mohammed Baba Abdullahi as chairman, is towards effective organisation of the four-day championship.
The Committees set up include, Accommodation, Ceremonial,
Protocol, Media/ Publicity,
Security, Secretariat, Transport and Welfare.
NAFED’s President revealed areas covered so far in terms of preparation and asked other exco members to suggest any area not covered in terms of logistics while the programme review was on-going.
He also mentioned the efforts being made by the Ist Vice President, Augustine Chigbolu in getting sponsorship for the event inspite of the hard economic realities of the present time.
NOC Deputy Secretary, Mohammed Baba Abdullahi, emphasised much on Protocol due to the fact that some of the visiting teams would arrive at odd hours of the midnight due to their flight schedules, hence the need for adequate security arrangement to be made for the visitors.
Abdullahi reminded heads of various committees of the need to cut down the size of their membership to three or four maximum,due to logistics
