Three indigenes of Ikaram-Akoko coming home from their base in Abuja have been in the kidnappers’ den in the last five days as negotiations for payment of ransom are ongoing.
It was learned that the trio was coming to Ibaram- Akoko for a function when bandits held them hostage and led them into the forest.
According to a source, the incident happened within the Ayer-Ajowa Akunu axis which falls into the Kogi State.

A family member of one of the victims who did not want to disclose his identity said the abductors were demanding for N40m ransom at the initial stage of negotiations.
Police in Ondo state said it happened in Kogi state which is not their jurisdiction.
A similar incident occurred last week when two men, a salesman, and a driver who left Ogbagi-Akoko to sell Coke in Okene were kidnapped on their way coming back home between Kabba-Okene road demanding 10 million naira ransom.

They were later released after the payment of an unspecified amount of money.
The Akala of Ikaram, Oba Andrew Momodu has warned people traveling along Ajowa-Ayere-Kabba and Ikaram-Akunu-Ayere roads to be security conscious and avoid late hour journeys on the roads as the criminal elements are too many in the forests.
The monarch called for serious joint efforts by security agents, vigilantes, and local hunters in both Ondo and Kogi states to reduce crimes, particularly kidnapping that is rampant in the axis.
