A new Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) for Anambra state Mr. Vincent Ogu, on Tuesday, resumed duty in the state.
Mr. Ogu an indigene of Imo State, is the 12th substantive State Commandant of NSCDC in the state.
He took over from his predecessor Commandant David Bille who was recently redeployed.
Public Relations Officer of the command DSC Okadigbo Edwin stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Awka.
He said the outgone State Commandant, David Bille had in his remarks during a handover ceremony held at the headquarters of the NSCDC Awka the state capital called for support from officers and men of the Command as well as members of the public.
Bille wished the new Commandant good health, God’s guidance, and wisdom in the discharge of his duties in the state.
He expressed appreciation to Anambra State Government and other Service Commanders in the state for their support throughout his stay in the State.
The new State Commandant, Mr. Vincent Ogu in his speech stated his readiness to work in accordance with the vision and mission of the Commandant-General of NSCDC, Ahmed* Abubakar Audi.
He also promised to rekindle the people’s confidence in NSCDC to reposition the Command for efficiency and productivity with special attention on human capacity building.

Ogu pledged to sustain the improvements and achievements made by his predecessor with his vast exposure and experience which he expects will be brought to bear in running the affairs of the Command.
He, therefore, sought for the cooperation, collaboration, and partnership from Ndi Anambra and residents by giving useful and timely information to the Command to rid the State of all forms of crimes and criminalities so as to create an enhanced economic environment for the State.
The new State Commandant has an impeccable track record in crime-fighting and has served in different capacities in various state Commands amongst which are FCT, Benue, Jigawa, Imo, Rivers, Katsina, Enugu, and Bayelsa, in the last posting he served as State Commandant NSCDC Abia State Command.
Highlights of the event were the signing of the handover and take-over notes, and the presentation of a symbol of authority.
