A 200-level Philosophy student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra state has been shot dead by suspected armed robbers in the state.
The deceased simply identified as Daniel, met his sudden death while attempting to collect a sim card from his stolen phone.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Jan. 8, when the Philosophy student was attacked by the robbers at Success Lodge Ifite, an area dominated by students of the institition.
The robbers were said to have stormed the area to raid the lodge and in the process took his phone from him.
Late Daniel was said to have attempted to collect his sim card from his phone, which was already with the robbers but was shot in the stomach.

He was rushed to the hospital where he later died due to excessive loss of blood.
The Anambra state police command via its Twitter handle said, “This is unfortunate, I got this information from the SUG president, last night.
“I have also escalated to the DPO covering the area. Police patrol has been on since then.
“I urge the witness of the incident to help us with information, please,” the command added.
