Football-loving Nigerian dreaming to see the Super Eagles lift the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon have been told to forget about it as the present team under German tactician, Gernot Rohr is not good enough for the title.
Former Nigerian international, Patrick Udoh made this declaration when he spoke with TNSports on the Super Eagles’ chances in the coming 2022 AFCON finals in Cameroon.
According to him, though, the present Super Eagles team boast of quality players, it lacks team play which is very vital in a big competition like the Nations cup to were Africa’s best players gather to showcase their talents.
The former international goalkeeper believes that for the Super Eagles to be competitive in Cameroon, they must prepare well, play as a unity, and with a winning mentality.
“On Nigeria’s chances at the 2022 AFCON, I will say presently, we don’t have a team. We’ve quality players but they have not been able to play as a team and this calls for concern.

“The Nations Cup is Africa’s biggest competition and it attracts the best players from the continent and for any team to succeed it must have quality players and play as unity with a cutout game plan and not what we presently see with the Super Eagles where the players struggle to connect with their passes,” he said.
“We’ve about two months to the kick-off of the championship, so, there is still room for improvement for Rohr and his coaching crew to work on the team, especially in the midfield which links the defense and attack. If are able to achieve that then there is hope for the team but if not then we should forget about winning it a fourth time,” he concluded.
