Wike votes after initial malfunctioning of BVAS machine

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike and his wife, Justice Eberechi Wike have finally cast their votes after the initial malfuntion of the BVAS.

The governor and his wife had earlier expressed displeasure over failure to get accredited to vote in the 2023 general elections

Wike and his wife had arrived at their Polling Unit 078 Ward 9 in Obio-Akpor Local Government at 11am to exercise their civic duty on Saturday.

However, the BVAS failed to accredit the governor and his wife.

Speaking at the polling unit, Governor Wike said “We are highly disappointed. INEC told us they were ready for the election and that BVAS was working.

“You can see the crowd here, I don’t think that most people will be allowed to vote with the slow working of the BVAS.

“If a number of people are disenfranchised, what do you expect? People may lose their temper and anything could happen.”

The governor added that that INEC should have been fully ready for the elections before claiming they were.
