Atiku, PDP’s petition an abuse of court process, Tinubu tells tribunal
Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, has described the petition filed by Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against his election victory as “a gross abuse of court processes.”
Tinubu, in a reply to the petition through his team of lawyers led by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, told the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) sitting in Abuja.
Fubara’s government will exceed our performance – Wike
Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has assured the people of Rivers State that his successor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara will exceed the performance of the current administration.
The governor, who hinged the successes recorded by his administration on the unrelenting prayers of the church, said similar support should also be extended to the incoming government of Fubara to succeed.
Collapsed Banana Island building not approved, says LASG
The Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development (MPPUD) has said that the building which collapsed at the Banana Island area of the state was not approved.

Police foils armed robbery attack in Abuja, nabs suspects
The Federal Capital Territory Police Operatives attached to Apo Divisional Headquarters have foiled an armed robbery attack and arrested a suspect following a distress call received from Zone E Extension Apo Resettlement.
Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Command, SP Josephine Adeh, in a statement said the police operatives from Apo Division swiftly mobilized to the scene, and the hoodlums, on sighting the police team, abandoned an ash-coloured BMW vehicle with Reg. No. ABJ 440 KX containing three plasma televisions and two laptops, which they had stolen from one of the houses, and fled in different directions.
Troops apprehend one bandit, recover arms, ammunition
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ), on Thursday said that troops of operation Whirl Punch nabbed one bandit along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road, with arms and ammunition.
Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami, in a statement said that the arrest of the bandit, followed a credible intelligence.
ECOWAS moves to curb trafficking of illicit arms in West Africa
The Commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), has concluded arrangement to put mechanism in place to tackle the growing insecurity, as well as trafficking of illicit arms in West Africa.
The Directorate of Communication, ECOWAS Commission, in a statement, said mechanism has also been put in place to control the use of arms by non state actors.
