Nigerian star and world record holder Tobi Amusan has clinched silver in the women’s 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo on Monday.
Amusan finished second clocking 12.29s in a fiercely contested final narrowly edged by Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, who stormed to gold in a national record of 12.24s, while Grace Stark of the U.S. took bronze in 12.34s, and Masai Russell finishing fourth in 12.44s.
Amusan, 28, was bidding to reclaim the world title she famously won in Oregon in 2022. Though she missed out on gold, the silver medal reinforces her place among the world’s elite.
