Nigerians react as father begs for release of suspected killer Timileyin Ajayi

Nigerians have reacted to the plea of the father of Timileyin Ajayi, the self-proclaimed gospel singer arrested for the murder of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member Salome Adaidu.
The father of the suspect recently appealed for his son’s release, sparking a controversy amongst netizens.
Recall that Ajayi, 32, was apprehended recently with the severed head of Salome, a 24-year-old corps member.
He has since been remanded by a Nasarawa State High Court.
While Salome’s family continues to mourn, Ajayi’s father, in a recent interview, pleaded for leniency.
“I want the government to help me so that the matter is settled. I want them to help me beg so that he is released,” he said.
Reacting, some Nigerians slammed the suspect’s father, claiming that he was an acquaintance, judging by his utterance.
Joy Iyahen, wrote, “Na this kind father dey support their children wrong doings when them young instead of correcting them. Just imagine his audacity.”
According to Okenyi Emmanuella, “Make they join the father and son together because this man with way him the talk na him teach him son.”
Carolyn Rinlat, said, “They are doing the same thing with the father, if not your son killed somebody’s daughter and you begging for his release? We are watching to see what the law will do, based on what is coming out of his rotten mouth he has been doing it.”
Ayomide Ori, wrote, “Something must be very wrong with the father. He might be an accomplice. They should arrest him.”
According to Mandy Chinny, “These parents are not worthy to be called parents. Imagine begging for his release, like the other parents deserve what happened to their daughter by their son. A good father should be disappointed for his son’s actions and allow justice take place for him.”
Akwanga said, “See this man ooo. Instead of you to be begging for forgiveness for giving birth to a murderer you are here asking for his release. Like seriously?”
Juliana Uche “Are you sure they are not eating the meat together? If not why are they begging for the boy instead of pitying the family their son killed their beautiful daughter?
No wonder the family of the girl went to the Brekete family for justice. In this country, anything can happen. Imagine! Without shame at all.”
