The All Progressives Congress (APC) State Congress Appeal Committee for Niger state said on Wednesday that it received no petitions or complaints regarding the party’s recently-conducted state congress.
Mr. Ray Morphy, the Chairman of the Committee, in a statement in Abuja, noted that the appeal committee’s exercise is ongoing.
The APC national secretariat had set up an appeal panel for each state of the federation to hear the grievances of aggrieved party members over the conducted congresses.
“From the Ward to the Local Government, up to the state level, the APC congresses in Niger have been splendid.
“The state adopted the option of consensus in which every interest group was represented and carried along.
“As the chairman of the Appeal Committee for the three levels of the Congress, I can confirm that we received no petition or complaint.
“My committee was on the ground in Minna at the party’s state secretariat and no one showed up with either a written or oral petition,” Morphy said.
He added that the committee had several stakeholders’ meetings and got commendations for the democratic and inclusive nature of the process in Niger state.

The chairman, however, dismissed media reports claiming that some persons could not submit their petitions to the APC Niger State Appeal Committee.
“I am surprised that anyone can claim that he or she sought to submit a petition and was denied.
“That is my view, is a figment of such a person’s imagination because the congresses were conducted in the open and witnessed by all relevant agencies empowered to do so.
“Our sittings as an Appeal Committee were also in the open. No one showed up to complain,” he stressed. (NAN)
