#ENDSARS: Nasarawa Gov Sympathises with TVC, The Nation Newspaper Over Attacks

Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, at the weekend condemned in the strongest terms, attacks on TV Continental, TVC and The Nation newspapers by hoodlums during the recent #EndSars protest across the country.

The Governor, in a sympathy letter on behalf of the government and people of the state, delivered to the management of the affected media outfits, described the incident as an affront on democracy and free speech.

He sympathised with the organisations over the destruction and looting of its head office in Lagos, stressing that the hijack of the EndSars protest by hoodlums leading to avoidable loss of lives and property was most unfortunate.

The Governor commended what he described as the resilience of the stations, urging their respective managements to maintain the spirit of professionalism in the field of journalism.

Responding on behalf of the management of the media outfits, Chief Executive Officer of TVC, Mr. Andrew Hanlon appreciated the Governor for identifying with the stations, expressing the gratitude of the managements and staff.

He assured of their readiness to sustain hard work and commitment towards emerging stronger and better for the betterment of the country and society.

A similar letter conveying the sympathy of the government and people of Nasarawa state was delivered to the leadership of The Nation newspapers.
