The turnout of voters for the Jos North / Bassa Federal Constituency bye-election currently ongoing in Plateau state has been described as very encouraging contemplating the number of voters at the various polling units.
In most of the polling units visited by our correspondent across the two local governments where the election is taking place, the electorate came out en masse to cast their votes for their preferred candidate.
Our correspondent reports that at the Angwan Gada one and polling units in Tudan Wada community in Jos North local government council of Plateau state, voters were seen on the queue for accreditation and voting which were done simultaneously, a development that made the exercise run seamlessly.
After casting his votes Henry Bulus a citizen of Jos North commended INEC’s logistics arrangement, saying it has made the exercise smooth.
He said from the report he had received so far, the exercise was well arranged while voting material was distributed early enough to ensure that it was conducted peacefully.
Alhaji Mohammed Siraj in Jos North also commended the security arrangement put in place saying, “with what is on the ground, there is no room for breach of peace, you can see how people are behaving themselves orderly.”
Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the ongoing Jos North / Bassa Federal Constituency bye-election Hon Abey Aku commended the Independent National Electoral commission (INEC )for the conduct of the election.
