The Local Organising Committee of the National Sports Festival, Edo 2020 has appealed to the federal government to expedite action in the release of funds to ensure successful hosting of the event.

The Chairman of the Committee and Deputy Governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shaibu made the appeal during press briefing to intimate the public on the Committee’s preparedness for the festival.

Speaking on the publicity and media coverage for the event,  Project Manager Media, LOC, Crusoe Osagie assured that the media will be deployed effectively to fill the  vaccum created by adherence to the COVID-19 protocols.

Edo state will have over 900 athletes participating in the National Sport Festival, Edo 2020.

The 36 states and the FCT will have 8 thousand athletes insisted of the 14 thousand earlier planned due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
