NWF commends Customs boss on inaugural Military/Paramilitary Wrestling Championships

 

The Nigeria Wrestling Federation has lauded the giant efforts of the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, CG Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, to host the maiden edition of Military/Para Military Wrestling Championships scheduled for October 18-24.

The NWF’s President, Dr. Daniel Igali, in his remark during a press briefing of the wrestling championship in Abuja, said the tournament will foster working cohesion among the military and the paramilitary personnel

Igali singled out the immense contribution of the Customs boss to enhance the development of Wrestling in the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies.

“On behalf of the board and entire wrestling community of Nigeria I want to appreciate the Comptroller General of Customs Service, Alhaji Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, for this innovation to host one of the biggest events the arm forces and other relevant securities have seen in recent times.”

“This Championship is not merely an event; it is a manifestation of the Federation’s vision to propagate and enhance the art of wrestling amongst the Armed Forces and Paramilitary Agencies”.

“The introduction of this inaugural championship promises to significantly strengthen the dynamic synergy between military and civilian spheres through the shared values inherent in sportsmanship”.

Similarly, the Federation also commended the reception of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Chris Musa.

Igali, during a courtesy visit to the Army boss, shared the exciting news of the upcoming championship with the Chief of Defence Staff and was pleased with his willingness to support the event fully.

Additionally, discussions were had on the 13th overall and 3rd Governor Douye Diri National Wrestling Classics, set for November 4th – 9th.

The week-long Military and Para-military championship is billed to take place at the Indoor Sports Hall of Package B of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja while 13th Overall and 3rd Governor Douye Diri National Wrestling Classics will take place at the Samson Siasia Indoor Sports Hall, Yenagoa the Bayelsa State capital.
