OAP Dotun knocks Nigerian fashion designer for charging in dollars

Nigerian radio personality, Dotun has reacted to a trending video of a designer, who claims she charges in dollars.

In the viral video sighted by ThisNigeria, the designer said she charges in dollars because her fabrics are paid for in hard currency.

However, Dotun, punched holes in her claims, describing such as a wrong take in business.

Reacting via his social media handle, he said: “an absolute wrong take. Americans charge you in dollars and the British charge you in pounds, not naira.

“Even, you have to convert your own Naira to pay them in their currency.

“You are charging in dollars in Nigeria but you are paying your taxes in Naira. Dey play.

“If the government charged you taxes in dollars, would you pay?

“You charge in dollars.. do you pay your staff in dollars?

“We need to stop normalizing these things, it cripples the economy and devalues the Naira.

“If your client is outside Nigeria then that’s understandable, it’s why it’s called foreign exchange.”
