The incumbent Senator representing Anambra North senatorial District in the National Assembly, Stella Oduah has been accused of alleged manipulation of the opinion polls result organised by the Nigeria Decides in the state.
This came as members of the Foundation of Movement for Good Governance (FMGG) called for Oduah’s disqualification from the opinion poll.
FMGG, led by Dr Chuks Ogogor, alleged that Senator Oduah after the results of the opinion polls manipulated the outcome to indicate that she was leading in the exercise.
But in a swift reaction, Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, dismissed the allegation, describing it as that does not hold water.
Nwobu said that the opinion poll was an activity that goes to sensitise the electorate and has not much influence on the voting day, adding that the body making the allegation has nothing to prove their claims.

The leader of the group, Dr. Ogogor said, “It marvels us why under your nose, a democratic poll is being obstructed by the use of bots to uptrend votes in favor of this highly placed individual in Anambra North Senatorial Election against other contestants.”
“At about 10:38pm Thursday 29 December, 2022, this highly placed individual launched Votebots to automate voter actions and perform them at scale. With Senator Stella Oduah who was ranking 2,946 votes some days ago from a reluctant and insignificant voting pace, rising to 4,600 within a few minutes, I could immediately tell that the distribution of votes is unnatural and violating an expected power law.”
He noted that, “This caused me to request for a recorded instance of the entire charade which is attached to this message for your reference”
“The manipulation of public opinion polls defies every sense of the words “championing good governance”, rather it remains a critical threat to our fragile democracy at a time the entire country is in dire need of restitution,” Ogogor said.
It must be noted that the battle for the soul of Anambra’ North senatorial district is between Senator Stella Oduah of the PDP, Mrs Ebelechukwu Oboano former First Lady and wife of immediate past Governor Wilie Maduaburochukwu Oboano, under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Tony Nwoye of the Labour Party (LP) and Princess Anaezonwu of the APC respectively.
