Okagbare blasts AFN over exclusion of 10 Nigerian athletes from #Tokyo2020

Nigeria’s track and field athlete who specializes in long jumping and short sprints, Blessing Okagbare-Otegheri has taken a jib at the Athletics Federation of Nigeria over the exclusion of 10 Nigerian Athletes from #Tokyo2020.
Okagbare-Otegheri reacting to the the new that shook many Nigerians said that sport system in Nigeria is flawed and that the athletes are always at the receiving end of the damages.
She lamented that the AFN leadership were ‘fighting over power, exercising their pride over puma contract/ kits forgetting their major responsibility which is the athletes.
She said: “I have said it before and I will say it again. If you do not know the sport, not passionate about it/us (the athletes), then you have no business there as an administrator.
The sport system in Nigeria is so flawed and we athletes are always at the receiving end of the damages.

She is an Olympic and World Championships medalist in the long jump, and a world medalist in the 200 meters Athletics Federation of Nigeria
