Okpebholo Sworn in as Edo Governor

Newly elected governor of Edo state, senator Monday Okpebholo has been sworn in as the 6th Governor of the state.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, the state’s capital.

 

Okpebholo took the oath of office alongside his deputy, Hon. Denise Idahosa, who was also sworn in by Edo State Chief Judge, Justice Daniel Okongbowa.

Okpebholo, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), won the governorship race in the September 21 election, defeating Barr. Asue Ighodalo of the PDP and Barr. Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo, and former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole, among others.
