The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday distributed sensitive materials for Saturday’s Akure North/ South Federal Constituency by-election in Ondo State.
The materials were distributed within the premises of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) amidst tight security.
The ceremony was witnessed by representatives of the Civil Society Organisation (CSOs), election observers, political parties, security agencies and journalists.
According to the INEC Commissioner in the Southwest, Prof Kunle Ajayi, the exercise was to ensure smooth conduct of the election.
He said the non-sensitive materials had earlier been distributed, adding that the commission was ready for a free and fair election.
