Ogun Gov. excited over completion of Lagos/Ibadan rail project

....urges Manufacturers to take economic advantage

The Executive Governor of Ogun state governor has commended President Mohammadu Buhari on his ability to complete the Lagos Ibadan rail project to be commissioned on Thursday the 10th of June.

He also enjoined manufacturers and residents to take the advantages created by the emerging development along the corridor

The Governor, who made this call during the last inspection of the Lagos/Ibadan project at Abeokuta station, named after Segun Osoba, indicated that the project if well taking full advantage would bring economic buoyancy to the state.

The governor expressed excitement over the project saying that of the 10 stations along the rail line, five are located in Ogun state, adding that the people of the state would benefit greatly.

“I really commend Mr. President on the effort and indeed the Honourable Minister. commend President Muhammadu Buhari for ensuring the timely completion. You see the project is not just for a mere listing of passengers, it is also for economic opportunities. As you can see this project is world-class and has alleviated us to an enviable height and we would make good advantage of it. I also had a section with the Honourable minister on how to make use of these inter-modern facilities to enrich the people”

Lawyers commend JUSUN for calling strike off

The Governor further appealed to the Nigerian Railways corporation to ensure an increase in the number of locomotives and coaches that ply the rail line after the commissioning.
” I learned that it is only one locomotive running this corridor to and from. And I would appeal to the authority to ensure that more are deployed immediately after commissioning”

” We have identified the fact that the train is a little bit slow and I was told it is for security reasons. We have also identified the issue of security for the protection of facilities more especially the tracks. We have also observed the need for access to stations because people need to have access to the stations. And we have to make our own contribution to complement the progress of the project and ensure that things work out”.

He further praised the quality of materials and work done on the project describing it as world-class.
