One Service, One medal Games a good prelude to National Sports Festival – Dare

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, has expressed delight at the just concluded One Service, One medal Games held recently in Abuja saying the event eventually took place despite all the challenges occasioned by Covid-19 lockdown even as the Nigeria Police Force won 4th edition of the tourney.

Dare equally expressed satisfaction over the high standard, discipline and commitment exhibited by the athletes in line with laid down rules and regulations.
He stressed further that the event was a good prelude to the National Sports Festival scheduled to take place in Benin from February 14th – 28th.
The Federal Road Safety Corps finished in the fourth position with 3 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze medals. Nigerian Correctional Service secured 2 gold, 2 silver 4 bronze medals. Nigerian Navy had 2 gold, 8 silver and 18 bronze medals. The Nigerian Custom brought up the rear with a miserly 1 gold, 3 silver and one bronze medals.
According to the Director of Grassroots Development in the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development Dr. Ademola Are: ” The OSOM GAMES was strategically designed by the Ministry in collaboration with the Military and paramilitary after the 2012 London Olympics Games to spur grassroots sports Development.
We are happy that we are achieving the vision of discovering hidden talents for future podium success for the country.”
Over 740 Athletes were registered for 15 events which took place over a four-day period in various venues in Abuja.
