Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC) on Wednesday says it plans to spend the sum of N3.889 billion as its total expenditure in the next fiscal year.

The Managing Director, OPIC, Mr. Abiodun Fari-Arole, stated this while defending OPIC’s 2022 budget before members of Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation, chaired by Olakunle Sobukanla, at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Fari- Arole noted that the amount would take care of the completion of the second phase of housing at the King’s Court Estate Phase II, Abeokuta and BOFT Apartment at Warewa, and the opening of the internal access road at Agbara and New Makun City.

He said it would also enhance sales of land and ease the movement of occupants within the estate, as well as the commencement of the development of two new estates at Siun Axis and Ijebu- Ode/ Epe Express road amongst others.

The MD stated that out of the total, the sum of N2.899bn would be set aside for capital expenses, N482 million for personnel cost, with N507million for overhead, while over N6.4billion was the proposed revenue for the period.

Similarly, the state ministry of justice says it remains committed to ensuring that the people of the state have unhindered access to justice, having set types of machinery in motion towards enhancing equity and fair play in the administration of justice.

The State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Oluwashina Ogungbade ( SAN), stated this before the state assembly committee on finance and appropriation during the ongoing budget defense.

He noted that more would be achieved through effective handling of all legal matters pertaining to the people, the government, and its agencies.

The commissioner added that the ministry planned to construct a building for a committee on rehabilitation and correctional administration of criminal justice, a monitoring center as well as zonal offices for the citizen’s rights.

He noted that this would strengthen the available judicial infrastructure and thereby enhance public access to justice.

Ogungbade disclosed that the ministry proposed a budget estimate of N763 million as total expenditure for next year, out of which personnel cost would take N438.7 million.

Also, N202 million would go for overhead and the remaining N122.1million would be expended on capital projects.
