Organ trafficking: UK court found Ekweremadu, wife guilty

A Court in the United Kingdom has found Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice Ekweremadu guilty of human trafficking.

In a rulling on Thursday, the court found the Ekwremadus’ alongside their daughter Sonia, and a medical doctor, Dr. Obinna Obeta, gulity of facilitating the travel of a young Nigerian man to the UK to harvest his organ for their ailing daughter.

However, the sentence on the case will be passed on a later date.

Recall that Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice were arrested by the British police on June 23 on allegations of human trafficking and organ harvesting that violate the country’s Modern Slavery Act.
