Nigerian human rights activist, pro-democracy campaigner, former presidential candidate, and founder of Sahara Reporters, Mr. Omoyele Sowore has said that Nigerians are not safe in their farms, students are not safe in their classrooms, our people are not safe in worship places.
Sowore reacting to Saturday’s assassination attempt on the governor of Benue state Mr Samuel Ortom by some bandits said that travellers are not safe on our roads, the work place is unsafe for workers.
Sowore said: A Governor is not safe in his home state, Nigerians are not safe in their farms, students are not safe in their classrooms, our people are not safe in worship places, travellers are not safe on our roads, the work place is unsafe for workers #BuhariMustGo
Also a chieftain of the peoples Democratic Party, PDP and a former minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has said that Fulani Nationality Movement (FUNAM), the Fulani group that claimed responsibility for assassination attempt on Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state on Saturday, is a foreign-manned counter intelligence operation whose sole purpose is to destabilise and destroy Nigeria.

Recalled that the Benue state governor on Saturday said that he tackled by gunmen numbering about 15 on his way from his farm along Makurdi-Gboko Road.
According to Fani-Kayode he said that FUNAM is a foreign-based, foreign-sponsored and foreign-manned counter intelligence operation whose sole purpose is to destabilise and destroy Nigeria.
He went on to say that FUNAM most be viewed and treated in exactly the same way as Boko Haram is being treated with the ‘full might and force of the Nigerian military since Boko Haram is the only group that have tried to murder Gov. Zulum of Borno state.
Fani-Kade said: FUNAM, who have claimed responsibility for the attack on and attempted assassination of Gov. Ortom of Benue state, is a foreign-based, foreign-sponsored and foreign-manned counter intelligence operation whose sole purpose is to destabilise and destroy Nigeria.
FUNAM must be viewed & treated in exactly the same way as Boko Haram& the full might & force of the Nig. military & FG must be unleashed against them. The murder of innocents has no place in a civilised society & those that unleash terror on our people must be utterly crushed.
…all their members, friends & associates before they push us into an avoidable & horrific full-scale civil war. The only other terrorist org. that has had the nerve and audacity to attempt to kill a Governor is Boko Haram who have tried to murder Gov. Zulum of Borno state.
