A High Court in Abuja has remanded Peter Nwachukwu, husband of the late gospel singer, Osinachi, at the Kuje Correctional Facility.
Justice N.K. Nwosu-Iheme gave the order on Friday.
ThisNigeria reported that the Attorney General of the Federation had instituted homicide-related suit against Nwachukwu.
However, during the sitting on Friday, the widower pleaded not guilty to 23 counts bordering on domestic violence and homicide, among others.
“The business for today is for arraignment, accelerated hearing is hereby ordered.

“Defendant should be remanded in Kuje Correctional Facility pending the hearing and determination of this suit,” Nwosu-Iheme said.
The judge adjourned the trial to June 16 from 12pm and June 17 by 9am.
Recall that the Ekwueme crooner died on April 8, 2022.
The deceased’s family, friends and colleagues had accused Nwachukwu of subjecting her to domestic violence which led to her death.
