Elections into all local government councils in Osun State have been scheduled for October 15,2022 according to State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC).
The Chairman of the Commission, Otunba Olusegun Oladuntan made this known at a press briefing in Osogbo on Monday.
Oladuntan said the Commission is now operating on the newly passed and assented Osun State electoral act 2022 which was passed by the State Assembly.

He said the Commision has also held parley with the political parties to brief them on the process.
However, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that won the recent governorship election has kicked against the decision of the electoral body to conduct the election.
The opposition party according to an observer believed the incumbent APC’s administration will use its power to influence the poll in its favour.
