Protest banned in Borno

DSP Edet Okon, Spokesman for the Police Command in Borno, made it known yesterday that no attempt at protesting in Borno would be tolerated.
The statement was as a result of information reaching the command that some groups are gearing up to protest the increase in electricity tariff, fuel price amongst other grievances. The Borno State Police Command is sure that such protest would only hamper the peace of the state instead of fostering it.
And as such, any attempt to protest by any group in the state would be tantamount to breach of peace and security and would be treated as a security risk.
Those who have grievances were encouraged to seek alternative means of addressing their grievances.
