Residents of the four local government area in Akoko Division that shares boundaries with Owo local government in Ondo state have expressed delight at the breakthrough of the military in conjunction with other sister security agencies in arresting perpetrators of Owo Catholic Church Killings.
They also hailed the efforts of Ondo state government towards the arrest of the culprits
The people also lauded all relevant bodies that assisted in the freedom of four Ikare prominent indigenes who were arrested along Owo-Ikare road recently by Gunmen.
The concerned Akoko residents including Gen.Joshua Olorunfemi (rtd) noted that the vast forest stretching from Oba-Akoko to Ipenme-Owo-Emure Ekiti needed to be combed and monitored while land owners must register their strangers according to Ondo state government directives.

Another community leader and the Chairman, Police Community Relations Community(PCRC) Irun Akoko,Mr Femi Oloketuyi who expressed his fear and anxiety on travelling along Ikare-Owo road called for motorised system of joint patrol by security agents instead of the present system of checking on one location
Oloketuyi appealed to communiies to consider as a matter of urgency the formation of local vigilante groups that will complement the regular security agencies.
The duo stressed the importance of information and intelligence sharing to the appropriate quarters.
