Pageant offers special youth empowerment in showbiz

The 10th anniversary of the Mr. and Miss Nigeria International (MMNI’) pageant will feature a special empowerment offer for youths in the area of showbiz.

Brendan Nsikak, Chief Executive Officer of Brendance and Crusader Ltd. (BCL), organizers of the pageant, made the disclosure on Sunday in an interview in Lagos.

 

Nsikak said that the special offer was to celebrate youths’ commitment to the BCL in the past 10 years.

“MMNI is more concerned and passionate about laying a good foundation and developing youths by combining human capacity building  and showcasing positive attributes.

” This unique anniversary will avail youths chances to contribute their quotas in community development,” he said.

Nsikak added that the anniversary celebration would provide an opportunity for youths to represent Nigeria at international events, among other fantastic prizes,” she said.

According to him, the offer is also to encourage self-discipline, confidence and charitable works among the youth.

On MMNI’s performance since  inception, Nsikak said  that  consistency had helped the mixed pageant to grow stronger and be focused in spite of challenges.

” For a child to be 10 years old, healthy, walking stronger and improving, it can only be God, He has been there for MMNI, a mixed pageant show that has held uninterruptedly since 2011,” he said.

He said that the 10th anniversary celebration, billed for October 31, was tagged, ”The Royal Edition”.

According to him, it will be a 10-day camp with  activities that would provide the contestants opportunities to activate different values and give sponsors greater deal for their investment.

“We are going to have not less than an eight-hour live streaming on YouTube and other social media that will be repeated so as to reach a wider audience.

” A check on our YouTube for 2020 event shows that, with the pandemic, we had a livestream of over 2,000 viewers, which explains that the brand has been globally accepted.”

He said  the MMNI show was  a tourism boost as it advertised the cultural pride of the nation locally and internationally.

He urged interested sponsors in the show to partner with the MMNI.

Nsikak said that the 2021 edition  meant to reach a wider community with 23 contestants as representatives of various regions, would be done by public voting.

“Each contestant is expected to have not less than 5,000 votes to qualify into the house,” he added.

Nsikak, the first Black African to be appointed  Choreographer/Groomer for Ms. International World and Ms. Latina USA, said that the MMNI had been a pacesetter.

He said that  the pageants was committed to promoting African heritage.

” The pageant is niched in a way that it promotes societal connections from winning mouth-watering cash prizes to becoming instant car owners and getting sponsored by prestigious organizations,” he said.

According to Nsikak, there are also opportunities for  endorsement deals and representation of Nigeria at international pageants.

He solicited  sponsorship from individuals, corporate bodies and Lagos State Government.
