Convention: Obende blasts Oshiomhole for instigating thugs against him

By David Lawani
Former Senator representing Akoko Edo Senatorial District, Domingo Obende has berated Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the former national chairman of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) for importing political thugs to embarrass him at the just concluded party convention.

Obende told ThisNigeria in Abuja that the former Governor of Edo State has yet to come to terms with his removal from office as the party national chairman thus accusing Oshiomhole of still harbouring bitterness over Governor Obaseki’s victory in the 2020 Governorship election.

According to him: “The reality is that Edo thugs were brought amongst the delegates to attack me because I decided to honour and visit them at their pavilion even though I am aware Comrade put those idiots together now called State Working Committee, this they also did to the Minister of Health and Victor Giadom.

Go South or face defeat at polls

“My submission in all of this is clear, if you don’t want a baby to cry, don’t beat the baby otherwise you can not beat a baby and you also stop the same baby from crying. They are hurt about the Comrade removal, Obaseki’s victory, and their inability to change my ward and local government executives even after offering so much at the National Headquarters of our party it still didn’t work for them.

“My conclusion on this is clear, if you don’t want splashes of water from the river on your white clothes, don’t go to the riverbank. Politics is about interest and those who also see it as a game always come out stronger and more refined than the others.

It will be recalled that Obende, was appointed Secretary of venue, stage and decoration committee in the just concluded All Progressives Congress, APC National Convention held on the 26th March, at the Eagles Square, Abuja.
