The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party, Elder Yemi Akinwonmi, has stepped in to run the affairs of the party.

This is following the suspension of Uche Secondus as the National Chairman of the party by a High Court in Rivers State on Monday.

The court restrained Secondus from performing the functions of national chairman of the PDP, including calling, attending or presiding over any meeting of the party, among others.

He also announced the indefinite suspension of the National Working Committee meeting of the party.
