PDP lauds security agencies for arraigning suspected killer of Hanifa

The Kano State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has applauded security agencies for the prompt arraignment of the suspected killer of Hanifa Abubakar, the five-year-old schoolgirl who was killed by her teacher.

Alhaji Shehu Wada-Sagagi, the state chairman of the party gave the commendation in a statement on Tuesday in Kano.

“The party wishes to acknowledge the successful operation through intelligence gathering and tactical security operation that led to the arrest of the suspected culprit Abdulmalik Tanko and his cohorts.

“We also join other Nigerians to commend the prompt arraignment of the suspects before a Senior Magistrate Court in the state to pursue justice for Hanifa without any delay,” he said.

Wada-Sagagi urged the State Government to follow due process in reforming the operations of private schools in the state to ensure that it was in accordance with the state laws.

“We learned that Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje has withdrawn the operating licenses of all private schools in the state.

“We also observed that there was a standard operating procedure provided by the law establishing private schools board in the state, developed by the previous administration,” he said.

The chairman extended the party’s heartfelt condolences to the family of Hanifa and the people of the state over the unfortunate incident that put them in deep sorrow and sympathy.
