The newly-elected National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator Iyorchia Ayo, former Presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, former governors and elected governors, Board of Trustees (BoT) members, elders and leaders of the party will today (Tuesday) storm Awka, the Anambra state capital for mega campaign rally of Chief Valentine Ozigbo, the party’s Governorship candidate for the November election in the state.
The mega rally billed for Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in the capital town is expected to attract political heavyweights including captains of industry, traders, market women, civil society groups, and members of the PDP from the five Southeast states and beyond.
Already, security has been needed up with the presence of anti-riot policemen military personnel, and officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps as well as plainclothes operatives to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
Speaking during an interactive session with media practitioners in Awka on Monday, Chief Ozigbo urged Anambra people to come out en masse to support the PDP and to cast their votes to come November 6th, 2021 as the only option that guarantees peace and development.
He advised residents and the electorate not to entertain any fear on the election day as there is enough security personnel to guarantee their safety across the length and breadth of the state.
The PDP candidate expressed optimism that the conduct of the poll would be free, fair, and credible.
Ozigbo noted that the opposition All Progressives Congress and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have nothing to offer Ndigbo at the Presidency except the PDP which he said has the charisma, passion, and sincere determination to meet the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians and Ndigbo in general.
According to him, Tuesday’s mega rally is expected to attract who is who including former governors and BoT members in the PDP to Anambra state.
Ozigbo said that PDP is the only party in the state that can take the citizens of the state to a greater height
“I am the best option for Anambra people and PDP is what the state needs now growth,” he said.
He also said that the only party that is generally accepted to Igbo, nationally is PDP and they must come out on Saturday to demonstrate their acceptability by voting for PDP.
“Igbo has only one party they can really around in the country and that party is PDP, that is why is the choice for all of us,” he said
Ozigbo said if elected as the governor on Saturday, he would work harder to be popular and even more popular than former Governor Peter Obi in Anambra state.
He urged the residents to vote for somebody with the content of character, emotion, and ability to listen as their choice of governor.

“Among all the qualities I have mentioned I have an advantage over others,” he said
He also regretted that the present APGA led government in Anambra has abandoned its responsibilities and the masses alone, adding that he is the right person to lead Anambra to its lost glory.
In addition, he noted that people know that Prof Charles Soludo of APGA and Senator Andy Uba of APC have done nothing in their various communities and therefore cannot do anything to the state if any of them is elected as governor of the state.
“We must do a due diligent before we vote for any person, many had appeared humble and good before the election and immediately they assumed office they become terrible,” he said.
“Andy Uba and Charles Soludo have lost all their popularity and by now they are no longer acceptable to be governor of the state.
He added that all he needed was genuine followership and not purchased followers who add no value to the governance of the Anambra state.
