The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), led by Mao Ohuabunwa, has scheduled a crucial meeting in Abuja on Wednesday (today) following Monday’s judgment, which upheld the nullification of the party’s National Convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, 2025.
The meeting is expected to discuss the implications of the appellate court’s ruling and other developments arising from the leadership dispute currently rocking Nigeria’s main opposition party.
In a notice to members, Ohuabunwa formally invited trustees to the meeting, scheduled for 2 p.m. in Abuja.
“This serves to formally invite all members of the Board of Trustees of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to a meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 2 p.m.,” the notice stated.
According to the notice, the meeting will take place at 1, Sabo Ago Street, Life Camp, Abuja.
Ohuabunwa emphasised that the gathering is being convened by the BoT, recognised by the party’s current leadership structure.
“Note that this is the only BoT recognised as constituted by the Abdulrahman/Anyanwu-led National Caretaker Working Committee pursuant to the Federal High Court decision and ratified by the Court of Appeal in Abuja,” he said.
He urged members to disregard any other notice calling for a separate meeting of the party’s trustees.
“Kindly ignore any other notice purporting to call for a meeting of the BoT,” the statement added.
The BoT chairman further stressed that attendance would be strictly limited to accredited members, warning that only duly notified trustees would be admitted into the venue.
The meeting comes amid heightened tensions within the PDP following the appellate court’s decision invalidating the Ibadan national convention. This ruling has further deepened the party’s internal leadership crisis.
