The Peoples Democratic Party has finally unveiled its presidential campaign council team, headed by the Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Emmanuel Udom as the Chairman while Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state is the Director General Management Committee.
According to the National Organizing Secretary of the party, Hon. Umar Bature, the council comprising 326 members, will be inaugurated on Wednesday 28th, September at the International Conference Center, Abuja at 11 a.m.
Other members of the council are: Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde who is appointed Vice Chairman south and his counterpart from Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed Vice Chairman north of the campaign council.
Professor Adewale Oladipo, Deputy DG, administration, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Deputy DG, Technical and System, Senator Liyel Imoke, Deputy DG operation, and Okwesilieze Nwodo, Deputy DG research, and strategy.
With this composition, it is clear that Governor Wike of Rivers State had been sidelined due to his demand that the national chairman of the party, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu should resign.

Following this composition PDP may be walking on a tightrope as Atiku also ruled out Ayu’s resignation.
And a few days to the commencement of the campaign for the 2023 general elections, there seems to be no end in sight to the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
However, a member of the National Working Committee loyal to Governor Nyesom Wike, who chose to be anonymous, in his reaction to the composition of the campaign council expressed reservation that Wike was left out: “what you see shows that they are not ready to win elections. We are looking at them.”
