Vice- President Yemi Osinbajo , would on Saturday be the Special Guest of honour at the graduation of the Senior Executive Course 42 graduation of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), where 78 of the participants are expected to round up their eleven months intensive research on strategic and policy implementation.
Director -General of the Institute, Prof. Abu Galadima, disclosed this at a press conference on Wednesday in Kuru , near Jos.
Professor Galadima said that the graduation of the executive course 42 would be expected to kick off from December 10 to 12, 2020, where other personalites expected to grace the occasion include the governors of Borno, Plateau, eminent traditional rulers, head of military and para-military agencies, captains of industry, distinguished diplomats and high ranking government officials would be in attendance.
According to him, participants were drawn from the armed forces, Para military agencies, federal and state civil services, tertiary institutions and organised private sectors.
He explained that “every year, the government provides an area of focus that the institute will devote most of its time to conduct actionable research on.
” For senior executive course 42,the study theme as provided by President Buhari, “Population Growth and Human Capital Development in Nigeria; Challenges and Opportunities.”
He said that the president charged the participants of the course, to research carefully and proffer policy options that would enable government fashion out appropriate responses to the challenges of rapid population growth and slow pace of human capital development.
He further explained that the president also charged the participants to articulate evidence based and appropriate responses to the numerous challenges associated with gaps between population growth and Human Capital Development in Nigeria.”
The DG thanked the president for his constant support to the Institute aimed at providing lasting solutions to the perennial challenges confronting the nation.
