Harnaaz Sandhu, Miss India was crowned Miss Universe 2021 on Sunday, December 12.

Harnaaz became the new Miss Universe in Israel after defeating 79 others.

Miss Paraguay was the first runner-up while Miss South Africa became the second runner-up.

Miss Universe 2020, Andrew Meza presented her crown before taking her first walk as the new Miss Universe on stage.

The competition took a new turn because that was the first time a delegate from the United Arab Emirates has ever competed and also the first time in over four decades that Miss Universe Morocco has returned to the pageant.

Meanwhile, The 2020 competition had been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The competition was hosted by comedian Steve Harvey.
