Planned Strike: Court issues injunction restraining NLC, TUC

An interim court order has been issued against the National Labour Congress NLC and the Trade Union Congress TUC to stop them from embarking on the strike action slated for September 28.

Justice Ibrahim Galadima of the National Industrial Court has granted an interim injunction.

Galadima granted an interim order restraining the unions, their officers, affiliates, privies from preventing workers and other Nigerians from accessing their offices from Monday.

To protect workers from harassment and bullying by the NLC and TUC, Galadima also granted the Inspector General of Police and the Director-General, Department of State Services (DSS) an order.

Following an order, an ex-parte application was filed by the Incorporated Trustees of Peace and Unity Ambassadors Association through the NLC and TUC counsel, Sunusi Musa.
